Phone: (210) 477-7266 About Jay Howard Jay Howard joined Planto Roe Financial Services in April of 2005 and is a Registered Representative* with Securian Financial Services and a Financial Advisor with Planto Roe Financial Services. Before embarking on his career in financial services Mr. Howard was a broadcast professional for 30 years, well known locally as the “Voice of the Spurs” for over a decade. He was also Sports Director for Clear Channel’s radio stations in San Antonio for nearly 20 years, hosting the longest running successful sports talk show in South Texas. He won numerous awards for doing the best play by play in Texas, best sports talk show, and best talk show. Mr. Howard’s decision to move into the financial services world caught some by surprise, including him. When he realized the broadcast industry had changed drastically, he needed to break down what it was that he found so attractive about broadcasting. What he discovered was he enjoyed being an activist on the air for various causes and helping people. Now his efforts are directed towards helping them enact financial strategies that enrich their lives and protect their families. In 2008 Mr. Howard earned his Financial Services Specialist designation from The American College. The American College FSS designation included courses related to estate planning, financial planning, investment strategies, retirement preparation and more. These course have equipped Jay to help his clients clarify long term goals, spot potential problems and provide effective ways to help achieve their dreams and protect their families’ financial futures. He is also certified in Long Term Care (CLTC), meaning that he has received specialized training on how to address problems that may arise if an individual becomes incapacitated due to age, injury or illness. Mr. Howard is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and holds a bachelor of arts from Wichita State University. A resident of San Antonio since 1983, Mr. Howard is a founding Board Member of what is now The Kids Sports Network, has volunteered his time with Roy Maas Youth Alternatives, and is a member of the UTSA Athletic Advisory Council. Recently he has returned to sports radio as one of the hosts of “Game Night San Antonio” on ESPN 1250. In his spare time he enjoys following current events, history, sports, photography, cooking and travel. Mr. Howard is an avid non-golfer. He’s the proud father of two daughters. In the News:
